How long does the infusion take?
The bag is 1liter and takes 1 hour to infuse. Prior to starting the infusion we will place the IV with a small needle. The entire process takes 60-90 minutes.
How does the iV vitamin therapy work?
The IV vitamin infusion directly enters your bloodstream, bypassing your stomach and gastrointestinal tract and allowing for 100% bioavailability. This means that every molecule is delivered directly to the millions of cells in your body and not subject to poor absorption from underlying gastrointestinal conditions. If you were to take similar vitamins by mouth (in tablet or capsule form), bioavailability would be 20-60% and therefore much less effective than an intravenous infusion. This is why our clients feel so refreshed and energetic after our treatments.
What is the process?
Once you have booked a treatment we will come to your current location, whether it be hotel, vacation rental or a home. We will review the waivers and what to expect during and after the infusion.
The infusion is started by Licensed Registered Nurse who inserts a small needle (similar to the size used for babies in the hospital) into a vein in your arm. You can choose which arm you prefer. During placement, you will feel a quick pinch and then its over. Next, we hang your infusion (bag of vitamins) on the IV pole and start the infusion. The infusion feels cool going into your vein and some people say they taste a little bit of the vitamin in their mouth. While the vitamin bag is infusing you can watch TV, read a magazine, or plan your next adventure on Maui. Our Licensed Registered Nurses are local residents so feel free to ask about activities and restaurants here on Maui. Once the infusion is done we pull out the small IV catheter and put a band aid over the site. Normal activities can be resumed directly after receiving our infusions, but we do recommend waiting one hour before swimming in the pool or ocean.
Do you Accept Insurance?
No, we do not accept any government or private insurance.
Can I use these products to Treat a pre-existing condition?
No, none of these products are intended to prevent, diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. Always consult your primary physician before beginning any IV programs. Any questions about the compatability of our IV products with current prescription medications will be reviewed by our Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
Will I feel like a million bucks after the infusion?
While most of our clients instantly feel a boost of energy, there are occasional ones who feel tired shortly after the infusion. This is due to the detoxification process and the body trying to rid itself of unwanted toxins. For those clients who do feel tired, usually this dissipates within a few hours.
